A Study of Factors Influencing Claim Duration of Injured Workers

Abstract

|
This study aims to analyze the factors influencing claim duration of injured workers. Data used for this study are survey data in 2008 and administrative data. Hierachical regression analysis is used to identify significant factors on the claim duration. The results show that the claim duration is significantly affected by their daily income, company size, unionization, the injury severity, the grade of disability, the number of surgery, the time from injury to receipt, and the number of transferring to hospital. The study suggests that it is necessary to implement some policies applicable for managing the claim duration.
